According to the company, the average purchase price fell from €130.75/MWh in March to €110.85/MWh in April, indicating a marked decline in prices in the power market.

Energocom purchased a total of 333.5 thousand MWh of electricity in April, including both domestic sources and imports.

More than 62% of electricity was purchased through imports. Of the total foreign purchases, 37.45% were made under bilateral contracts with suppliers and producers from Romania and Ukraine, while the remaining 25.37% were purchased through OPCOM and BRM trading platforms, in the day-ahead market.

The remaining 37.18% of consumption was covered by local production. Of this share, CET-Nord and Termoelectrica thermal power plants accounted for 14.05% and renewable energy sources for 23.13%.

The procurement structure shows a significant dependence on imports, but also a growing share of renewable energy in the national energy balance.

The decrease in the average purchase price in April may affect tariffs on the domestic market, depending on contract developments and conditions on regional energy markets, Energocom said.
