Since the beginning of the year CNAM has paid more than 6 billion lei for medical services

In the first four months of the year, CNAM transferred more than LE 6 billion for medical and pharmaceutical services provided to the population.

In the compulsory health insurance funds, the National Health Insurance Company accumulated revenues of about 4 billion 242 million lei during this period. The respective savings increased by about 292 million, or 7.4 percent, compared to the same period of 2025, CNAM said.

The largest part of revenues came from health insurance premiums as a percentage of wages. They amounted to LE 3 billion 217 million, 277 million more than in the same period last year.

Compulsory fixed health insurance premiums exceeded 416 million lei, about 103 million more than in the first four months of last year.

Other revenues, including insurance premiums paid by residents of IT parks, reached 108 million lei, about 22 million more than in the same period last year.

At the same time, in January-April, expenditures totaling about 6 billion 149 million lei were made, with most of these funds going to contractors providing medical and pharmaceutical services. The amount directed for payment for medical services, medicines and medical devices provided in the first four months of the year is about 854 million lei higher than in the same period last year.
