The ambulance service will be replenished with new cars for 77 million lei

The fleet of the emergency medical aid system will be renewed with new vehicles equipped with modern equipment, which will make it possible to provide assistance in severe clinical cases, even in hard-to-reach areas and under difficult weather conditions.

The National Center for Pre-Hospital Emergency Medical Care announced a procurement procedure for special vehicles for a total amount of 77 044 000 lei (VAT excluded).

According to the documentation, it is planned to purchase 1 C Neonatal reanimation vehicle for the transportation of newborns, including premature babies; 7 ambulances with four-wheel drive, equipped with equipment for intensive care and reanimation measures directly during transportation, including in difficult road conditions; 30 B 2×4 vehicles for basic pre-hospital emergency care.

All vehicles must comply with European standards and be no older than 2025 year of manufacture.

The application period will run from April 27 to May 18, 2026.

Recall that the network of subdivisions of the National Center for Pre-hospital Emergency Medical Care includes more than 40 emergency medical aid substations in municipalities and cities and about 100 in rural areas. Last year, about 1.5 billion lei were allocated from the mandatory health insurance funds to cover pre-hospital emergency medical aid services – about 199 million lei more than in 2024.
