The data were presented by the chairman of the Association of Producers and Exporters of Moldovan Grapes (APESM), Gheorghiu Gaberi, at the organization’s traditional winter seminar on dry pruning of vineyards, held the other day in Ialoveni.
In the period August 2025-January 2026, Moldova sent to foreign markets (42 countries) almost 63.7 thousand tons of table grapes of last year’s harvest. At the same time, horticultural organizations estimated the production of table grapes in 2025 within 85-90 thousand tons.
Probably, some amount of last year’s grapes will be exported this month as well.
Table grapes export from Moldova in 2025
Last calendar year the country exported 64.57 thousand tons of table grapes to foreign markets (including 10.2 thousand tons from the 2024 harvest) for a total of $59.47 million. The average export price of this product ($0.92/kg) was noticeably lower than in the previous year ($1.13/kg). Specialists explain this by the relatively low quality of grapes of the 2025 harvest due to heavy precipitation during the harvesting campaign last fall.
By the way, the export price for table grapes decreased in winter. Obviously, storage did not benefit the produce, and its quality continues to fall.
Last year 28.7 thousand tons of grapes exported from Moldova for the amount of 39.72 million (44.6% of the total volume) were exported to the European Union. Moreover, the average export price for deliveries to the European market amounted to $1.38/kg, which is about 50% higher than the average invoice price of grape exports from Moldova in all directions.

However, during the last seven years in Moldova the areas of Pergola vineyards (and conversion from the traditional system) have been annually increasing. More than 10 thousand farming families are engaged in table viticulture in Moldova.
