Coppola has already sold his real estate in the fall of 2025 to cover some of his debts. Now some of his watch collection is going into business.

The director’s F.P. Journe watch was sold for almost $11 million at Phillips auction to an anonymous buyer, writes marie claire. This sale was the highest price achieved for a watch at auction in the United States since the sale of a Rolex “Paul Newman” Paul Newman Daytona watch in 2017.

Coppola designed the model himself in $2014 as part of a collaboration with F.P. Journe, a Swiss watch company. They have an openwork design, which allows you to see their unusual inner workings. The center of the dial shows a gloved hand with fingers that disappear and appear in different configurations depending on the time of day.

The auction reportedly began with an absentee bid of $1 million dollars. Within seconds, those wishing to get their hands on the valuable piece raised the bids to 5 million. The price of the watch rose in increments from $100,000 to $500,000.

The auction ended with a final bid of $9 million (the final price of $10.755 million includes auction fees).
