As noted in the information on the website of the mayor’s office, to prevent the formation of spontaneous dumps, the municipal authorities are strengthening control over garbage sites and around them with the use of video surveillance cameras.
Persons who will violate the order will be brought to responsibility. Penalties are envisaged up to 4-5 thousand lei.
At a weekly meeting on February 3 at the City Hall, representatives of public utilities from Balti municipality discussed with the leadership the terms of installing video cameras and their number. All 54 garbage sites in the city will be monitored.
The initiative of round-the-clock monitoring was announced at the end of December last year, but the installation of video equipment has not been completed yet. In this regard, the deputy mayor of the municipality Vitaly Balan emphasized: the process must be accelerated. He explained that the delays in the implementation of the idea were due to the need to create an individual project for each site and coordinate it with RED-Nord.
