This was announced during the presentation of the national campaign “Study in Moldova”.
The aim of the initiative
Within the campaign, from February to May, more than 12,000 students will visit the country’s universities and higher education institutions will make presentations in lyceums and colleges. The main goal of the initiative is to demonstrate to young people the opportunities to obtain quality and competitive higher education in the Republic of Moldova.
According to the Ministry of Education, last year such a campaign brought tangible results: the number of enrolled students increased by 11%, and 6 out of 10 graduates chose to continue their studies at Moldovan universities.
The campaign program includes 8 regional educational fairs to be held in different regions of the country, as well as a national university fair scheduled for May 24 at Arena Chișinău, where about 4,000 graduates are expected.
Investments in universities are on the rise
The ministry said that the growing interest in domestic universities is due not only to an active information campaign, but also to significant investments in the higher education system.
“We continue to invest in our universities. More than 500 million lei have been invested over the last five years, and this amount will be increased over the next 3-4 years. Currently, renovation of student dormitories, laboratories and classrooms is actively underway,” said Minister Dan Perciun.
The campaign “Study in Moldova” will be held on the whole territory of the country.
