
The repair works will be carried out within the framework of the state program “Fund for Energy Efficiency in the Residential Sector of Moldova” (FEERM), managed by the National Center for Sustainable Energy (CNED).
Financing agreements between CNED and the homeowners’ associations managing these houses were signed in January.
Thus, for the house on Grigorie Ureche street, the total investment value exceeds 7.8 million lei. The planned works include thermal insulation of external walls, insulation of the foundation and basement walls, replacement of external windows and reconstruction of the drainage system. These measures will allow reducing heat losses, cutting heating costs and increasing the comfort of the residents. The estimated savings after the implementation of the planned measures is 20%.
At the same time, technical documentation and estimates will be developed, technical expert works will be carried out, and the heating and water supply system with horizontal distribution of the heat carrier will be modernized in the houses in Academy Street and Nicolae Titulescu Street. The investment value of the house at the Academy address is 1.57 million lei, and of the house at Nicolae Titulescu street – 1.39 million lei. After the works are completed, the energy savings for the residents are estimated to reach 38%.
Grants for the reconstruction of multi-storey buildings cover 70% of the eligible costs, while the contribution of the residents is 30%. In the case of families vulnerable to energy costs and living in such buildings, an additional grant of between 15% and 90% of their own contribution is provided. The beneficiaries – homeowners’ associations – are selected through open competitions organized by CNED.
The Moldovan Fund for Energy Efficiency in Residential Buildings (FEERM) is a national program with a three-year budget of 1.4 billion lei designed to finance energy efficient renovation projects in residential buildings, both multi-storey and private.
