Moldovan Parliament starts spring session

The spring session of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova starts on February 2, according to the order of the chairman of the legislative body Igor Grosu, Logos Press reports.

Moldovan Parliament starts spring session

On 28 January, the Permanent Bureau adopted the order of plenary meetings and the agenda for the period from 3 to 5 February. The inaugural meeting of the session will take place on 3 February with the participation of the Presidents of the Baltic Parliaments.

At the February 5 plenary session, MPs will consider the first reading of a number of legislative initiatives, including bills on the use of confiscated property for public purposes, on countering sexual exploitation and child abuse, on the cost of forensic expertise, on regulating commercial activities with illegal devices and semiconductor topographies, as well as bills related to amendments to the Tax Code and the Media and Audiovisual Services Code.

Also, the parliament intends to consider international cooperation issues, including the ratification of an agreement with Japan on financial support for the modernization of Teleradio-Moldova’s equipment, the ratification of an agreement under the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea on the preservation and sustainable use of the marine biological environment, as well as the accession to the Convention on the Granting of European Patents.

Also, the meeting will examine a draft vote of no confidence in the policies of the Agriculture and Food Ministry, initiated by opposition MPs.
