This was stated by Minister Natalia Plugaru, presenting the results and plans for the future work of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection.
For comparison: in 2025, about 20,000 people found jobs through the National Employment Agency.
Among the key measures to reach the 2026 goal are support programs for young people under 35, including a monthly salary supplement of 3,000 lei for one year, continuation of knowledge certification for 84 professions, as well as vocational training vouchers for people without qualifications or whose professions no longer meet the labor market requirements.
The ministry will continue supporting employers and job seekers through professional internships, on-the-job training, subsidies and grants for starting a business. Special attention is paid to the inclusion of vulnerable groups: people with disabilities, over 50 years of age, victims of domestic violence or young people without parental care. For such categories, employers can receive subsidies of up to 80% of the base salary, and rural residents and persons with disabilities can receive compensation for transportation costs.
The development of kindergarten services to support the return of parents, especially women, to the labor market remains a priority.
“In 2025, we invested 18 million lei in the creation of new nursery groups in kindergartens, which allowed us to open 241 new places. In the next two years – we are very ambitious: we are increasing the budget 20 times to 385 million lei, as we plan to create another 5,000 places in nursery groups, realizing that this is one of the key barriers to return to work”, the minister said.
