“The first case involves the restoration of a road that provides a link between the border with Romania (Leuseni), Chisinau, Dubasari and the border with Ukraine for 84 kilometers,” the parliament said in a statement.
Another strategic project is a 9.4-kilometer-long section of the Moldovan capital’s ring road, which will be widened to four lanes.
In this context, the foreign policy commission of the legislative body approved an advisory opinion on the negotiation and amendment of the loan agreement for the fifth road reconstruction project in Moldova.
The original loan agreement was concluded last year based on studies conducted in 2014 and 2021. But between 2021 and 2025, the road construction sector was hit hard by the economic crisis, increasing the cost of materials and labor by up to 39%.
