257 athletes from 16 countries came to the capital of Moldova to compete for medals. According to the State Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Research, Sergiu Gurin, the organization of this championship will promote greater involvement of people, including those with disabilities, in this sport.

The Moldovan national team is represented by 34 athletes. It includes world and European champion Nicolae Frangou, who was recognized as the “Athlete of the Year 2024 in non-Olympic sports”. The team is also represented by world and European champions Nicolae Byrliba, who holds many international records, and Mihail Munteanu.

Earlier, the International Kettlebell Lifting Federation (WKSF) announced a contract with the National Anti-Doping Agency of Moldova (ANAD) to conduct tests during the championship. All participants, including those with disabilities, will be tested for the presence of banned substances in their blood.
