
According to the ministry’s press release, the minimum wage for the next year was agreed upon jointly with the social partners through dialogue on the platform of the National Commission for Consultation and Collective Bargaining on November 20. After that, a Technical Working Group was set up to study all the proposals and develop an agreed minimum wage.
“The proposal aims to achieve a sustainable increase in the minimum wage, taking into account both the needs of workers and the current economic and budgetary conditions,” the ministry said in a statement. – The implementation of the new value will aim to ensure predictability and fairness, which will contribute to the government’s goal of gradually increasing the minimum wage in the country, reducing poverty and combating undeclared employment.”
The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection provides the dynamics of the minimum wage (gross) in recent years:
– 2021 – 2935 lei;
– 2022 – 3500 lei (+19% compared to 2021);
– 2023 – 4000 lei (+12.5%);
– 2024 – 5000 lei (+25%);
– 2025 – 5500 lei (+10%).
The minimum wage increase in 2026 will be approximately15% compared to 2025.
