The Ukrainian side did not disclose the content of the proposals to resolve the armed conflict, but said Washington’s efforts to develop a plan could “help revitalize diplomacy,” Euronews noted.

Kiev believes the U.S. plan largely echoes Moscow’s long-standing demands and forces Ukraine to make concessions. And said Zelensky plans to discuss diplomatic options with Donald Trump in the coming days. “The parties agreed to work on the provisions of the plan in such a way as to achieve a just end to the war,” Euronews quoted a statement from the Ukrainian president’s office as saying.

“Since the beginning of the year, Ukraine has supported President Trump’s proposals aimed at ending the bloodshed. We are ready now, as before, to work constructively with the American side, as well as with our partners in Europe and around the world, so that peace is achieved as a result,” the statement also reads.

According to a number of media outlets, the plan echoes most of Russia’s maximalist demands, which it has adhered to since the first days of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine and often cites as the reasons for the start of the war, Euronews reported.

The US media reported that the plan includes calls for Kiev to give up the Donbas regions in eastern Ukraine that it still controls, to significantly reduce the number of armed forces and to surrender many weapons.
