No Ligue 1 club reached the 1/4 finals of the Moldovan Cup

The biggest score was recorded in Chisinau, where Zimbru hosted CF Univer (Comrat). The match ended with the score 10:0 in favor of the hosts. Nicky Kleschenko scored a hat-trick, Brazilian international Jonatas Conceiçao scored a double, while Gai Daan, Caio Dantas, Serafim Cojocari, Timofei Sarkovski and Alexei Shebetun scored one goal each.

The hero of the match – 24-year-old Zimbru midfielder Niki Kleshchenko said that he feels indescribable feelings playing for a club with such a rich history, and spoke about his dream to reach the level of his father – Sergei Kleshchenko, who took to the field in the Bison shirt more than 150 times and scored 66 goals for the team. Kleshchenko Jr., who joined the team in February this year, played in 20 matches for Zimbru and scored six goals.

“Sheriff” as the reigning trophy winner defeated FCM Ungheni 7-0. Mamadi Diarra and Konan Luku scored a double each, while Peter Ademo and Luis Figueiredo scored once each. Wasps’ Albanian international Amarildo Joni converted a penalty.

CSF Bălți gained a confident victory over the capital club Victoria with a score of 6:1. Mihail Platica scored a hat-trick, Dan-Angelo Bocan and Andrei Rusnac added to the team’s success. The prestige goal was scored by Ion Pavlov.

With the same score, the Super League outsider Politehnica-UTM defeated Real Sireți. Politehnica-UTM’s legionary, Sierra Leonean Samuel Gandhi hit the net twice, once each – Nikita Lipkan, Lucian Radu, João Santos, Artur Sprincean and Nikita Lipkan. “Real Sireți broke the score thanks to an auto-goal – Alexandru Mardari scored into his own net.

The club “Spartanii-Sportul” defeated “Iskra” from Rybnitsa, hitting its goal three times (Maxim Danilov, Petru Leuca and Sean Weiss scored) and conceding one from Eugeniu Gliga. Like Politehnica-UTM, Spartans will be relegated in the first phase of the Superleague.

“Milsami”, “Dacia-Buiucani” and “Petrocub” had more modest victories. Orhei Eagles defeated FC Florești thanks to a single goal by Brazilian international Igor Souza de Carvalho, who recently joined the team.

Dacia-Buiucani’s meeting with Ligue 1 leaders FC Stăuceni also saw a single goal, scored by 21-year-old Dacia midfielder Vitalie Dumbrava. “Petrocub defeated CF Olimp 2-0. Dan Puskash and Viktor Bogachuk scored.

None of the Ligue 1 clubs managed to reach the 1/4 finals. All matches were played on the fields of the teams represented in the Super League. The 1/4 finals and semifinals will be played in spring 2026, the winners will be determined by the results of two matches. The pairs and dates of the matches will be determined later as a result of the draw in the Moldovan Football Federation. The final is scheduled for May 23, 2026.

The current holder of the Moldovan Football Cup is Sheriff, which defeated Milsami 2-1 on May 24 this year. The record holder in the number of trophies is Sheriff, which has won the Cup 13 times. “Zimbru won the Cup six times, Tiligul-Tiras and FC Tiraspol three times each.
