During Moldova Business Week 2025, a memorandum of understanding was signed between Zener Group, New Energy Technology and Horizon Auto to launch an investment project.

The project, which will be implemented in Straseni, will create the first enterprise in the country specialized in components for electric mobility infrastructure. The plant will produce equipment for charging stations and energy storage systems for electric vehicles with a strategic export orientation to the European market.

This investment is the largest Chinese project in RM in recent years. It is more than 20 times the amount of investments previously attracted from this country.

The representative of the Chinese company, Mu Dayong, emphasized the strategic perspectives of the project, saying: “We are investing 20 million euros in the construction of a modern, fully automated plant for the European market. Our goal is to create a solid production base for charging and energy storage technologies here, contributing to both the development of the region and the integration of the Republic of Moldova into European value chains.”

The Strasen plant will provide dozens of jobs thanks to the high level of automation and semi-automation of the assembly line. These will mainly be specialists in electrical and electronics engineering, logistics and production management. At the same time, the investment will bring indirect benefits through the development of local suppliers and increased exports of technology and components for electric vehicles.
