Two active members of the Association, elected as deputies, will be the promoters of these initiatives in the parliament. Serghei Stefanko (DA) and Serghei Ivanov (Our Party) will receive mandates. As Alexander Bădărău, executive director of the association, noted in a conversation with Logos Press correspondent, these farmers, even in their current status, keep in touch with the “Farmers’ Force”. That is, we can hope that they will become the voice of agricultural producers in the Moldovan Parliament.

In the top five most urgent measures to support farmers in the current difficult situation “Farmers’ Power” included:

  1. Participation of a representative of the “Forța Fermierilor” Association in the negotiating group for Moldova’s accession to the European Union – to ensure the protection of the interests of the country’s small and medium-sized farms in the process of its integration into the European economy.
  2. Full reimbursement of VAT accumulated in agriculture, especially by those farms that are in bankruptcy.
  3. Restoration of the mechanism of reimbursement of excise duties on diesel fuel used in agriculture.
  4. Consultation of the Minister of Agriculture with the Council of Agri-Food Associations prior to appointment.
  5. Urgent development of a specific strategy for adaptation of agriculture to climate change.

Other measures include important actions such as increasing the access of Moldovan farmers to European funds in preparation for Moldova’s accession to the EU from 2026; the creation of a fund for assistance to victims of natural disasters; a program of small-scale industrialization in rural areas; ensuring the presence of agro-food products from local producers on supermarket shelves – the “50% law”; targeted support for farmers from the districts of Stefan-Voda and Causeni, which have suffered the greatest damage from drought for four consecutive years; the creation of the Earth Bank, as well as many other measures.

The full package of agricultural support measures in the Farmers’ Power version will be officially presented to the new parliament and government in the first days of their work.
