The taster card – a digital format for an eco-friendly celebration
This year, for the first time, the entrance ticket will be available exclusively in digital format, which will make attending the event easier and more eco-friendly. Visitors who buy the “Taster’s Card” will receive a biodegradable glass with the Wine of Moldova logo and the opportunity to discover the wines presented in the center of Chisinau. The ticket includes useful information about the wineries and the event, as well as attractive bonuses, including discounts on promotional products. It can be purchased online at iticket.md and is valid for both days of the festival.
Lessons about wine at the Wine School
As part of National Wine Day, visitors are invited to the School of Wine, where they will learn about autochthonous varieties such as Feteasca Albae, Feteasca Regale, Feteasca Neagre and Rare Neagre.
Here the educational process takes the form of excursions, where sommeliers and oenologists talk about the specific aromas of the varieties, taste and aftertaste, peculiarities of each winemaking region and give practical recommendations for proper wine storage at home. At the same time, the participants will learn about the correct way to evaluate wine in glasses, about combining wine with dishes.
Not only in Chisinau, but also at the winemakers’ homes
The celebration goes beyond the borders of Chisinau. More and more wineries are opening their doors to visitors, turning the event into a national festival celebrated in vineyards and cellars. This year, ten producers have prepared their own programs, from thematic tours and tastings to cultural events dedicated to guests. In addition, some wineries offer free transportation to the destination.
Culture atCurtea Țărănească
National Wine Day is not only about wine, but also a living tradition. At “Curtea Țărănească” , guests will be able to take part in workshops on pottery, sculpture, weaving or folk dancing.
