Five Moldovan karate players took prizes at the Grand Prix of Budapest (Hungary), organized by the World Karate Federation (WKF), - reports Logos Press.

Moldovan karate players distinguished themselves at the Grand Prix of Budapest

The highest medal was won by Alexandru Capmoale, who became the best in the weight category up to 67 kg in the competition among athletes under 21 years old. The other Moldovan medalists won bronze medals – Peter Ursac in the category up to 45 kg (U-14), Eldar Antoc – up to 35 kg (U-10), Vladimir Carabulea – up to 30 kg (U-10) and Vladislav Suslin – in the absolute weight category (U-8).

Karate fighters represented the club “Viteazi” (Balti), they are wards of Victor and Alexander Capmoale. In the final medal standings, the Moldovan athletes ranked 26th among the 92 clubs whose representatives won prizes.

The Grand Prix of Budapest in karate was held for the 28th time. The competition is one of the most prestigious in the WKF calendar. It was attended by 2400 karate fighters from 250 clubs representing 41 countries.
