The ANRE Administrative Board made the decision on August 18. It was dictated by the need to define the legal framework for gas supplies to the unrecognized region after September 1, as the current license of Moldovagaz for gas supply to the region expires on August 31.
According to Vadim Ceban, acting chairman of the Moldovagaz board, ANRE also obliged the company to create and maintain natural gas reserves in an amount that would cover at least 15% of the average annual consumption of natural gas by household consumers, as well as by enterprises and institutions providing basic social services in the Transnistrian region, where unlicensed system operators have been operating for the last 5 years.
The schedule of reserves creation, starting from September 1, 2025, assumes the formation of reserves in the following proportions:
– until September 30, 2025 – at least 50% of the volume approved by ANRE;
– by October 31, 2025 – 100% of the volume approved by ANRE.
The decision of the ANRE Administrative Council was adopted on the recommendation of the Ministry of Energy and agreed with the Reintegration Bureau to ensure the continuity of gas supplies to the Transnistrian region during the cold season.
