
According to the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE), of the total fuel imported into the country, 72.6% was diesel, 21.4% gasoline and 6% liquefied gas.
Romania retained the first place in the list of the largest suppliers. The share of Romanian gasoline in imports reached 98.8%, increasing by 0.7 percentage points compared to the same period in 2024. The remaining 1.2% came from Bulgaria.
As for diesel, Romania remains the dominant supplier with a share of 83.1%, followed by Turkey (11.8%), Bulgaria (2.5%) and Azerbaijan (1.7%).
Romania was also the main supplier of LPG, accounting for 70.5% of imports. Other supplying countries include Egypt (13%), Algeria (6.4%), USA (5.6%) and Kazakhstan with a share of 3.6%.
NRATI also notes that average import prices tended to decrease during the first five months of the year, reaching a minimum in May for both gasoline and diesel.
Gasoline prices ranged from $799.4/t (high in February) to $737.3/t (low in May, 7.8% lower than in February). The diesel price range ranged from $785.7/t in January to $681.7/t in May (-13.2%).
LPG import prices also declined in the first half of the year – from $731.2/t in February to $564/t in June (-22.8%).
As of June 30, 2025, national stocks provided 22 days of gasoline consumption, 16 days of diesel fuel, and 31 days of liquefied natural gas.
