AIPA announces another call for applications from livestock producers

The industry ministry and the Agriculture Payment Agency (AIPA) today presented the results of the 5th call for proposals for direct payments in the livestock sector, held from June 23 to August 8.

The total amount requested from 351 applications reached LE 52.9 million. Farmers requested 38.2 million lei in subsidies for sheep (about 47,000 heads) and 14.6 million lei for goats (over 17,000 heads). AIPA notes an increase in both the number of applications and the number of livestock to be subsidized, compared to 2023.

AIPA has already started processing documents and disbursements. So far, 63 applications have been approved, totaling MDL 10 million. It is expected that within the next two weeks, all the relevant documents will be processed and the payments will be made in full, as the necessary funds have already been transferred from the National Fund for Agricultural Development.

As a continuation of the support measures for the cattle-breeding sector, starting from mid-August, a new reception of applications for direct payments per head of cattle older than 3 months and older than 12 months, as well as for direct payments per kilogram of cow, sheep and goat milk is announced. The deadline for applications is September-October.
