The initiative aims to connect young people with professionals from Moldova living abroad. Their task is to instill in young people the skills of integration in the labor market. According to the authors of the idea, this is a new approach to the education of young people, since for the first time the diaspora will be used as a strategic partner for these purposes, or rather its professional potential. The program is implemented by the public association “FĂCLIA” with the support of the projects “Policy Consulting Fund” and “Promotion of Youth Employment in Moldova”, financed by the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development and implemented by GIZ Moldova.
During three months (September – November this year), 50 young people will participate in individual online sessions with mentors from the diaspora, specialists in such fields as IT, entrepreneurship, education, engineering, marketing, green economy, etc. The program will be implemented by GIZ Moldova. The program participants will work with three different mentors on a course that includes, in addition to career guidance, the development of digital competencies and interpersonal skills, financial education and basic entrepreneurial skills.
The mentors will undergo a 40-hour training course developed by EMCC Romania, with the possibility of obtaining an international certificate.
The program is addressed to young people from all over the country, with a focus on the districts of Soroca, Edinet, Ungheni, Orhei, Cahul and Balti municipality, as well as representatives of the Diaspora who want to participate.
It should be recalled that the Days of Diaspora are traditionally organized in Moldova in August. This year, they will be held from August 17 to 20. Various cultural and entertainment events are scheduled within the Days of Diaspora, as well as the annual Diaspora Congress, which will be held on August 15.
