Shooter Klimentij Ursu won two gold medals in North Macedonia

Moldovan athlete Climentii Ursu triumphed at the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) in Skopje, North Macedonia, winning the air pistol shooting competition, Logos Press reports.

The first gold medal was won by 17-year-old Climentij Ursu in the 10-meter air pistol classical shooting competition. Natalia Borovetschi scored 384 points, leaving behind athletes from Italy and Poland. This medal was the first in the history of Moldovan athletes’ performances at the EYOF.

A day later, the shooter made a brilliant performance in the 10-meter air pistol shooting in the “Solo” discipline and became the owner of the second gold medal. In the final he defeated Bulgarian Damyan Iliev with the score 11:10. Yuri Krivtsov (Belarus), who competed under a neutral flag, won the bronze medal.

23 Moldovan athletes compete in the EYOF, held in the capital of Northern Macedonia. EYOF is held under the auspices of the Olympic Committees of the European countries and attracts athletes seeking to participate in the Olympic Games, World and European Championships.
