Builders and recyclers have an “improved” mood this summer

Entrepreneurs expect a moderate growth of the business environment and sales revenues from the summer season. Managers of manufacturing and construction enterprises are more optimistic. The balance of positive answers regarding the short-term forecast of developments in the respective markets is noticeably higher.

The enterprises of retail trade and services are more cautious in their forecasts, although they also expect growth in revenues (short-term balance of answers +13%) and sales prices (short-term balance +7%).

Less optimism of the managers of the surveyed enterprises is related to sales prices and availability of personnel. All respondents forecast a moderate growth of selling prices – with greater or lesser short-term balance. Personnel issue traditionally does not cause much enthusiasm – the statistics receives approximately the same number of positive and negative answers regarding the number of employees and plans to expand the staff.

According to the NBS, 52.5% of all respondents actually experienced business activity constraints in the second quarter of 2025. The main reason was insufficient demand in the market (it was mentioned by 31.5% of respondents). Also, the activities of enterprises are negatively affected by financial problems (23.2%), lack of skilled labor (21.1%), consequences of the crisis caused by the war in Ukraine (11.6%), lack of space and/or equipment (3.9%).
