During the tournament, the Moldovan national team won four medals: one gold, two silver and one bronze. In the final bout of the competition in the weight category up to 54 kg, Bukhaniuc defeated Ruslan Avetisyan of Russia. On his way to the final he was stronger than Michael Michalis from Cyprus and Raul Heydarli from Azerbaijan. The bronze medalists were Hayk Karapetyan (Armenia) and Raul Heydarli.
Silver medals were won by Andrey Timoshkov in the category up to 66 kg and Nikita Blind – up to 48 kg. Both boxers lost gold medals to their Russian rivals: Andrey Timoshkov lost to Maxim Zelenov, and Nikita Blind lost to Matvei Zaitsev. In the category up to 66 kg bronze medals were won by Arsen Karapetyan (Armenia) and Nikita Chmunevich (Belarus), up to 48 kg – by Hakob Sharbatyan (Armenia) and Nikola Raicevic (Montenegro).
The Russian national team won in the team medal standings among young men, winning eight gold medals. The second place was taken by the Armenian national team, which won two gold, five silver and three bronze medals. The national teams of Moldova, Serbia and Slovakia won one gold medal each.
Maria Dovgopol (up to 66 kg) won a bronze medal in the girls’ competition. She lost to future European vice-champion Sama Abbasova from Azerbaijan. Russia’s Alexandra Kosheleva won the gold medal, Victoria Zlobich (IBA-I, team of neutral athletes) won the second bronze medal. The Russian national team became the leader of the team standings among girls, winning 12 gold medals out of 13 possible. The women’s teams of Azerbaijan and Armenia took the second and third places respectively.
The tournament was held in Novi Pazar (Serbia) under the auspices of the European Boxing Confederation (EUBC). Representatives of a number of countries that left the membership of the organization did not take part in the championship. Athletes from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Czech Republic, Georgia, Germany, Latvia, Malta, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Russia, North Macedonia, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain and the Czech Republic took part in the competition.
