
Violations of legislation were found in 2,322 cases. As a result, tax fines amounting to 7, 242 million lei and administrative fines amounting to 2, 472 million lei were imposed.
The most violators are in the areas of trade, including online marketplaces, as well as passenger transportation and HoReCa (restaurants and cafes).
The ministry’s website says that the goal of the STS control measures is to monitor the observance of the procedure of issuing tax receipts for cash payments, the declaration of all incomes received in the course of economic activity, as well as the availability of documents on the origin of goods sold.
In the sphere of online commerce in almost all cases (193 out of 207) the inspectors found non-compliance with the law. They found 718 advertisements posted on various sites, advertising the sale of goods and indicating the possible implementation of illegal business activities. Most often it concerned the sale of tobacco products, clothes, shoes, as well as flowers and jewelry. As a result of the control actions, 193 protocols on violations were drawn up and sanctions were imposed for a total amount of 328,400 lei.
From the financial point of view, the biggest amount of fines and penalties went to the budget from the sanctions imposed on trade enterprises. Their sum totaled over 6 million lei. About one million lei each was paid by violators in the passenger transportation and HoReCa sectors.
