
According to the published report on the activity of Moldtelecom JSC for last year, its income from operating activity increased by 86.1 million lei, up to 193.1 million lei. The net profit amounted to 159.9 million lei, showing an impressive growth of 79.2% (+70.7 million lei). The company allocated 44.6 million lei for dividends. The company paid income tax for last year in the amount of 22 million lei. The company employs 2,320 people.
Moldtelecom is a national operator in the field of electronic telecommunications, the only one that provides the whole range of services – mobile and fixed telephony and Internet, as well as IPTV.
Last year the company provided 630.3 thousand fixed telephony services, which is 115.5 thousand less than in the previous year. At the same time, 455.2 thousand services were provided via broadband network, or 15.6 thousand more. In the field of mobile telephony – 933.3 thousand services (+28.8 thousand).
During 2024, the company focused on the development of internet access networks based on GPON technology, modernization and development of fixed networks, development of 4G LTE 1800 networks and information networks, as well as implementation of energy saving projects.
Moldtelecom was established in 1993 and reorganized into a joint stock company in 1999. Its sole shareholder is the state represented by the State Property Agency. The authorized capital of the joint-stock company is over 1 billion lei, its equity capital is 4.4 billion lei. It also includes the enterprise development fund in the amount of 3.2 billion lei.
In 2007, the company launched a mobile telephony service under the Unite trademark on the basis of CDMA technology. In 2009. – IPTV. In 2010, 3G mobile communication was introduced, and in 2015 Unite LTE 4G+ mobile network started operating.
In 2020-2023, fiber-optic networks were extended throughout the country to provide Internet access at speeds of up to 1 Gbps. In 2024, Moldtelecom started offering the eSIMplu service, which makes the transition from traditional physical SIM cards to digital SIM cards – eSIM.
