You can obtain a digital signature starting at age 14

Once they reach the age of 14, young people will be able to request that a qualified electronic signature certificate be registered on their ID card or residence permit. A draft of the relevant resolution was approved by the government at a meeting on July 1.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs’ statement emphasizes that this measure will allow teenagers to use their digital identity from the moment they receive their first identity document and to access, under secure conditions, electronic government services intended for their age group.

An electronic signature certificate will be issued only upon request, with the consent of the minor and his or her legal representative. Possession of this certificate does not confer full legal capacity nor does it expand the minor’s legal rights.

The draft also provides for configuring access to electronic government services via MPass based on each user’s legal capacity.

Thus, access to digital services will be tailored to each person’s age and rights within a safe and secure digital environment.
