“Access to culture” for 50 million lei

The budget of the program for 2025 is 50 million lei. The funds will be used to support the development of culture at the local level, especially in rural areas and communities with limited access to activities. In particular, 10 areas can receive funding: cultural tourism, training of cultural professionals, book purchases, museums, folk art, literature, theater, music, choreography, photography, protection of cultural patrimony, etc., as well as cultural tourism.

In the near future, a guide for applicants will be developed, a coordinating council will be established, and a precise plan of activities will be approved. The launch of cultural projects will begin in May.

The coordinating council will include two representatives of the Ministry of Culture, one representative of the Ministry of Education and two cultural workers with at least five years of experience. The members of the council will not be paid for their work.

Every year the Council will draw up a calendar of cultural events. It is planned to allocate up to 1 million lei for each event.

Local authorities, specialized institutions (museums, houses of culture, etc.), as well as individuals and legal entities will be able to request funding for the organization of an event. For individuals, an important condition will be to have experience in cultural, managerial or administrative activities. At the same time, a cultural event can be organized by several participants if it is complex or will take place in several localities.
