As market analysts note, grain prices in the EU are being “driven up” by reports of a poor corn harvest in France (the lowest since 1976), which is certain to reduce the overall European supply of this grain. The price of corn on the MATIF exchange also rose, reaching 266.25 euros per metric ton (for delivery in November 2026).
At the same time, the deteriorating outlook for the European corn harvest may lead to increased consumption of feed wheat.
Wheat prices on the European Euronext exchange continue to rise—December contracts rose by 0.6% to 246.75 euros per metric ton, reaching their highest level since July 24. There are already clear signs of demand. In particular, Tunisia is now paying 7% more for wheat compared to the price at the beginning of the month, which indicates international demand for commodities from the Black Sea and Mediterranean regions, according to agrointelegența.
