According to the ministry’s press office, Finance Minister Victoria Belous held a meeting with representatives of farmers, during which they discussed measures included in the draft tax policy for 2027.
Representatives of the agricultural sector outlined their position regarding VAT rates applicable to agricultural products and certain food items, the reverse charge mechanism, VAT refunds, and other aspects related to the draft.
Minister Victoria Belous reiterated her willingness to engage in dialogue and seek solutions acceptable to all parties.
“We understand the challenges farmers face and believe it is important to take them into account. At the same time, we must analyze the impact of these measures on the entire sector and find solutions that will promote development and investment in agriculture,” the minister noted.
As a reminder, the authorities plan to increase the income tax rate for peasant farms to 12%. The goal of this measure is to establish fiscal equality between peasant farms, sole proprietorships, and the basic taxation of wage labor.
The Ministry of Finance will continue consultations with all stakeholders as it finalizes tax policy for 2027.
