Sirius Software has successfully grown its business—a modern, AI-powered accounting platform that today helps thousands of entrepreneurs and hundreds of accountants manage their financial processes more effectively.
Born out of a pressing need
The idea arose from a real-world problem that the founders, Alexandru Vapilov and Traian Chivriga, faced daily in their work.
“The idea for the product came about 4–5 years ago, when Traian and I were discussing a project related to the processing and automation of banking transactions. We wanted to automate the processing of bank statements so that users would no longer have to constantly log into online banking and deal with complicated passwords and procedures. Initially, we did this for ourselves, but then we realized it would be extremely useful for accountants as well. At first, we didn’t even consider it a startup. However, we saw interest and potential users. Later, we began developing a full-fledged platform for accountants,” explains Alexander Vapilov, CTO and co-founder of Sirius.
One of the platform’s most sought-after features is the automation of invoice processing using artificial intelligence.
Saves time
In traditional systems, accountants manually enter dozens or even hundreds of documents, which can take days. With Sirius, documents can be photographed and uploaded directly to the platform, and AI automatically processes the information.
“I had an accountant who used to manually enter about 50 electronic invoices into 1C, and it took her several days. With Sirius, she simply took photos of them and uploaded them to the platform. The AI automatically scanned and indexed all the data, and the process took about 10 minutes,” says the co-founder.
The founders’ vision is ambitious: to radically change the way accounting is done and even replace the traditional 1C software. They emphasize that the platform is not intended to replace accountants, but to simplify their work, helping them work faster, more organized, and more efficiently.
“We don’t believe that AI will replace accountants. But it will be a huge help to them and simplify their work. Our platform puts companies’ finances in order. You issue invoices, create payment requests, and see who has paid you—right from your phone. You create invoices in less than 60 seconds, export them to the e-invoicing system, and then simply wait for them to be signed and, of course, paid,” says Alexandra.
Big Plans and International Expansion
The company currently has a team of 11 people and has raised approximately 360,000 euros in external investment. The founders aim to continue developing the product and enter the Romanian market, offering a modern alternative to traditional accounting systems.
