“Technology has become accessible to everyone, and now things will get even more complicated with artificial intelligence, which is advancing not just monthly, but daily. Every day we learn something new about artificial intelligence,” said Maia Sandu on the “Jurnal Politic” podcast.
The president noted that proposals will be drafted based on the results of consultations with young people from various communities, as well as with parents, teachers, and psychologists. According to Maia Sandu, these discussions confirmed the existence of risks associated with the impact of technology and the information it provides to children and young people.
Maia Sandu noted that the proposed measures are not “magic solutions” and emphasized the important role parents play in monitoring the time children spend online, as well as the content they access.
“No government policy can be as effective as parental involvement and supervision,” the head of state said, urging parents to communicate with teachers and learn the basic tools that will help them monitor their children’s online activity.
