Graduates’ employment will be tracked

A mechanism for monitoring graduate employment will be implemented in the higher education management information system. It will make it possible to determine graduates’ employment status, identify those who are unemployed within the country, and assess whether their field of study aligns with their current position.

Employment of Graduates

These changes are provided for in a draft government resolution aimed at improving the system’s regulatory framework and creating a separate functional module for monitoring graduate employment.

Currently, the higher education management information system lacks an automated and unified mechanism for tracking graduates’ career paths. Higher education institutions collect information on graduates’ employment in collaboration with employers; however, this process remains fragmented, lacks a unified methodology, and does not provide for the automatic cross-referencing of educational data with employment information.

The implementation of new functionalities is scheduled for 2026–2027. The work will be funded using remaining funds from the “Higher Education in Moldova” project, implemented with support from the World Bank. Approximately 2 million lei have been allocated for the system’s development.
