On Wednesday, July 29, the government will consider a draft resolution approving the National Program of Events dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the declaration of independence of the Republic of Moldova, titled “Independence That Unites Us—Moldova-35”.
The document, drafted by the Ministry of Culture, provides for a series of cultural, educational, commemorative, and official events to be held throughout 2026 to mark this important date for the country.
As Logos Press previously reported, the program includes 28 events, among which are celebrations at the Great National Assembly Square, the National Prize award ceremony, campaigns to promote the cultural heritage and image of the Republic of Moldova, thematic exhibitions, the Maria Bieșu International Opera and Ballet Festival, European Heritage Days, and other events dedicated to the country’s independence.
To coordinate the program’s implementation, an interagency working group is planned to be established, which will be responsible for organizing the events and monitoring the implementation of the planned activities.
According to the draft, the events will be funded from the approved budget allocations for 2026, allocated to the responsible agencies, including through the reallocation of identified savings in the relevant areas. No additional funding from the state budget is envisaged for the program’s implementation.
