The head of the government said that he speaks daily with several entrepreneurs, whom he contacts to find out what the main challenges they face are.
“I try to speak with at least 5–6 entrepreneurs every day. I usually call them when I’m on the road. First of all, I thank them for having already invested in the Republic of Moldova, for having businesses here, and for creating jobs, and I ask them how I can help. And you know, this really allows you to get a feel for what’s happening in Moldova, to understand what’s driving things forward and where the bottlenecks are. I intend to continue doing this,” Tofan said on Sunday, July 26, in a video address recorded from his car.
He assured that the current government will be “focused on creating more jobs and reviving the economy.”
“If the economy does well, I believe other things will fall into place as well,” Vasile Tofan added.
Previously, Logos Press wrote about the new government’s five priorities, as viewed through the lens of the business community. These are: stabilizing public finances, managing public debt, implementing a balanced fiscal and budgetary policy, improving conditions for the business environment, and carrying out structural reforms.
We recall that on July 21, the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova endorsed the candidacy of Vasile Tofan, a 44-year-old investment manager and financier with pro-European views, who was nominated by the ruling party. Subsequently, President Maia Sandu signed the corresponding decree.
