This is the second annual edition of the exhibition, held under the motto “Developing Moldova, Consuming Moldovan Products,” and this year it promises a record number of participants. The organizers hope the event will receive strong international support: invitations to participate in the exhibition have been sent to 178 chambers of commerce and industry in 80 countries around the world, said Sergiu Haria, president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), Sergiu Harea, during an appearance on a Moldova 1 television program.
“This exhibition was a success right from its very first edition because, as we intended, it was aimed at promoting local producers among the Moldovan diaspora—those who come home at the end of summer to visit their parents and friends. They are the best ambassadors for our products abroad,” Agrobiznes quotes the CCI chairman as saying.
It is estimated that about 300 local producers will participate in the fair, which is expected to attract around 50,000 visitors—three times more than last year. The event will feature festivals celebrating carpets, pies, and wineries.
