As a reminder, it was submitted by the mayor’s office for a vote today, and although it raised many questions and drew criticism, it was nevertheless approved by the Chisinau City Council.

However, representatives of the PAS faction abstained from voting, expressing their disagreement with certain aspects of the draft and the fact that not all of their proposals were taken into account when the final version of the draft was developed.

“We want to know all the details; otherwise, it seems as though we’re voting blindly, without knowing which amendments were proposed, which were adopted, and which were not. We haven’t seen a summary document outlining the differences from the original draft to understand this,” explained Zinaida Popa, chair of the PAS faction.

The budget was approved with revenues totaling 9.6 billion lei, of which 4.9 billion lei are transfers from the state budget. Expenditures were approved in the amount of 10.8 billion lei. The budget deficit stands at 1.2 billion lei.

As Logos Press reported today , ahead of the council meeting, the mayor of the capital, Ion Ceban, stated that 98% of the proposals submitted by city council members had been taken into account. As of last Friday, the mayor’s office had approximately 900 million lei in its accounts, the mayor said.
