
“Orhei-Vit” is a Moldovan company with American capital. It operates its own agricultural production facilities, a distribution company for finished products in Moldova, and canneries in Orhei and Căușeni. The company is currently in the process of acquiring another canning factory in the north of the country and is awaiting approval of the deal from the Competition Council. The company’s annual revenue is approximately 40 million euros.“Orhei-Vit” is a member of the American Chamber of Commerce in Moldova (AmCham).
During a meeting with the Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Moldova, the company’s management “Orhei-Vit” expressed hope for assistance from diplomats of both countries in reducing customs duties on imports of Moldovan agri-food products into the vast and prosperous U.S. market. Another important topic of discussion was the need to establish legal mechanisms to protect Moldovan-American businesses from double taxation.
His Excellency Mr. Nick Petrovich, in his conversation with the owner and management of “Orhei-Vit,” expressed particular interest in the forms and nature of the company’s cooperation with its partner farmers. As noted in a statement from the U.S. Embassy in Moldova, “This is the strength of the U.S.-Moldovan economic partnership: job creation, business development, and the integration of markets—from Orhei to the rest of the world.”
