Within the municipal program “Startup for youth and migrants”, a ceremony of signing 27 contracts for financing projects worth 5.74 million lei was held on January 23, Logos Press reported.

Under the program “Startup for Youth and Migrants”, 27 projects were approved for financing for a total of 5.2 million lei through the Municipal Center for Entrepreneurship Development, Logos Press reported.

At a time of mass migration of young people to study and work abroad, Moldova’s IT sector is becoming a center of attraction for the local workforce, offering competitive salaries, career opportunities and an attractive tax infrastructure, Logos Press reports.

Moldova has launched three new youth “macro-programs” with a total budget of 20 million lei, but the funding may be adjusted depending on the number of applications, Logos Press reports.

Active young people in Moldova are receiving financial support from the state. This year, the Ministry of Education and Research allocated $1 million for the development of youth initiatives, Logos Press reports.

More than 300 companies have already expressed their willingness to become participants in the program to support young people who are getting a job for the first time, Logos Press reports.

Money from parents remains the main source of livelihood for a third of young people in Moldova, Logos Press reports.

Vocational guidance will be supported by professionals from the diaspora within the framework of the program “Busola Tineretului” (“Youth Compass”), – reports Logos Press.
