Over 1,900 tons of de-icing materials, hundreds of special vehicles and almost two thousand requests for medical assistance – these are the first consequences of worsening weather conditions, according to Logos Press.

This year’s winter turned out to be more severe than expected, and the weather conditions are putting a strain on the energy system and the work of public utilities. Power outages have already been recorded, and it is impossible to completely exclude such situations in the future, Logos Press reports.

The road situation in Moldova remains difficult due to ice and precipitation. In the morning of January 27, the National Crisis Management Center held an operational coordination meeting in connection with unfavorable weather conditions throughout the country, Logos Press reported.

Snow, ice and abnormal frost have already provoked transportation collapse in a number of European countries, Logos Press reports.

In the first days of the New Year, Europe faced a real winter – heavy snowstorms, cold, ice – which caused disruptions in transportation, delays and cancellations of flights and trains, accidents on roads and power grids, – reports Logos Press.
