A humanitarian aid package worth 5 million euros has launched the WASSER project aimed at stabilizing water supply and sanitary infrastructure in Moldova’s regions bordering Ukraine, Logos Press reports.

Over 50 million euros – this is the total cost of the project to improve the water supply to the residents of Chisinau municipality, as well as Calarasi and Straseni districts, Logos Press reports.

In Moldova, an information system “Management of water supply and wastewater services to the population” will be created, as well as a Register, in which all data on these services will be centralized. The Government approved the concept of the information system and the Regulation on the Register at a meeting on July 9.

Archaeological research will start at two archaeological sites of national importance within the project “Expansion and improvement of water supply services in Cahul and Vulcanesti districts,” Logos Press reports.

The National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) approved new tariffs for Apă-Canal Chișinău for water supply, sewerage and wastewater treatment services. The wording from ANRE: “To ensure sustainability and quality of services”. The previous tariffs were adopted in October 2023 and have not been changed since then.
