Almost 2.5 thousand tons of walnut kernels were exported by Moldova to the EU market in January-October 2025, – Logos Press reports.

Toward the end of the walnut harvest, the supply of the commodity is not very high and prices are 10-20% higher than last year’s level at the same time of the season,” according to Logos Press.

At the end of the current week in the south and center of Moldova, nut growers will start mass harvesting of early exported walnut variety “Peschanski”, – reports Logos Press.

This season, several well-known nut-growing enterprises in the country have offered (or are planning to offer) to Moldovan consumers a new product – walnuts of popular varieties of American and European selection (“Chandler” and others) in green peel, packed in consumer packaging, – reports Logos Press.

Only early varieties of walnut orchards, mostly of local selection, suffered to some extent from April frosts. The medium- and late-maturing walnut orchards of French and American selection, at first impression, were not affected,” Logos Press reports.
