In the near future, Moldova and the USA will continue negotiations on reducing tariffs on Moldovan exports, Logos Press reports.

The National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) has approved the base costs of Energocom JSC, and the company can now submit a request to the agency for approval of new tariffs for the supply of natural gas to consumers, Logos Press reported.

The administrations of the State Enterprise “Railway of Moldova” and the Association of Grain Exporters Agrocereale have not agreed to work together to optimize tariffs for grain transportation, increased by 7% in autumn, Logos Press reports.

This was stated by the director of the National Agency for Energy Regulation, Eugen Carpov, noting that at the end of the year, companies in the energy sector make calculations, based on which they can apply for tariff adjustments.

The decision of the Moldovan Railway Transport Administration (CFM) to raise tariffs for railway transportation of agricultural products by an average of 7% from September 12, 2025 has already affected the Moldovan grain market, Logos Press reports.

Nearly six months after U.S. President Donald Trump announced the imposition of ultra-high “reciprocal” tariffs – a blatant violation of WTO rules – the global trading system is holding up well. No major economies have followed Trump’s lead, and according to UNCTAD, global trade is expected to increase by about $300 billion in the first half of 2025.

Moldova’s designated natural gas supplier, state-owned Energocom, does not intend to accumulate large gas reserves in foreign underground storage facilities. The company’s director, Eugeniu Buzatu, said that the supplier will limit itself to a minimum gas reserve of 15%.

As a result of the seasonal decline in prices of some groups of goods, annual inflation slowed from 7.9% to 7.3% in August, Logos Press reported.

Within 6 months, registration companies must bring the prices of their services in line with the new tariffs, Logos Press reported.
