Moldovan customs officers exposed an attempt to illegally move 64 boxes of cosmetic products without declaration, Logos Press reported.

During inspections carried out by Moldovan customs officers together with border guards at Chisinau International Airport, several attempts to smuggle precious metal goods undeclared to the customs authorities were detected, Logos Press reported.

Bulgaria remains the largest supplier of smuggled cigarettes for the black market in Romania with a share of more than 30%, with Moldova in second place with 23.8%, according to Logos Press.

On Wednesday, the parliamentary commission for national security, defense and public order held hearings on a number of acute and high-profile problems that have seriously alarmed society in recent weeks. Among them is the case of the discovery of a vehicle full of ammunition at the Leuseni-Albica checkpoint on November 20.
