Moldova has repaired a section of railroad from the Ukrainian border to the border with Romania along the route Basarabeasca – Iargara – Prut 2 – Cahul, which had not been used for more than five years, to ensure the import of crushed stone from Ukraine for the reconstruction of highway R-34, – reports Logos Press.

The Moldovan government will apply to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development for an additional loan of 150 million euros to complete the repair and reconstruction of two roads of strategic importance, Logos Press reported.

This is stipulated by a relevant amendment to the loan agreement between Moldova and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development on the implementation of works on the construction and reconstruction of roads, the ratification of which was backed by the cabinet.

During the first stage of the “Europe is Near” program, 132 projects worth 628 million lei were selected, according to Logos Press.

The government has approved the Program for the distribution of the road fund for national roads for 2025. This refers to the 1.7 billion lei planned for the road fund in the state budget law,” Logos Press reported.
