Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu has presented an “informal” report on the first two months of the current cabinet, Logos Press reported.

Alexandru Munteanu, the PAS party candidate for prime minister, believes that Moldova should move from a consumption-based economy to an investment-oriented model, attracting capital, including from the diaspora, Logos Press reported.

The new prime minister is facing difficult tasks: to bring the economy to a new level, to carry out tough structural reforms, to synchronize with the European agenda, to maintain public confidence and to build profitable relations with partners. Dinu Plingau, who was elected to the parliament on PAS lists, said that, in particular, he wants to achieve a “thaw” in the Moldovan-American relations. Dorin Recean said that he will have to fulfill two more key tasks: ensuring security and reforming the justice system, on which a healthy economy is built.

The Action and Solidarity Party (PAS), which has won a majority in Moldova’s new parliament, will nominate Alexandru Munteanu for the post of prime minister, Logos Press reports.
