Heating bills in Lithuania in January this year almost doubled compared to December, said Valdas Lukoskevičius, president of the Lithuanian Association of Heat Supply Providers, according to Logos Press.

The Energy Ministry claims that Moldova’s high heat bills are mostly due to the low energy efficiency of Soviet-era buildings, Logos Press reports.

The world is rapidly moving toward a shift from the era of the global dollar to one in which physical resources, primarily water and energy, which are essential to the functioning of artificial intelligence and electronic currencies, will play a crucial role, Logos Press reported.

Moldova is accelerating digitalization in the energy sector and intends to turn energy into a sector capable of supporting the country’s economic growth and security.

Households will be able to manage their energy consumption more efficiently by installing smart meters, and networks will be modernized, significantly reducing energy waste, Logos Press reported.

Moldova’s specialists will be able to develop more accurate forecasts of the energy sector’s development and its impact on climate change. This was reported by the Ministry of Energy, noting that the agency’s energy forecasting specialists received practical training at a July 29-30 workshop on a new energy system modeling tool developed with OSCE support.

Within the framework of Moldova’s accession to the European Union, the participants in the meeting discussed the implementation of the European legislation in the energy sector, Logos Press reported citing the Ministry of Energy.
