The outgoing parliament will be remembered for having worked for most of its mandate under a state of emergency (from March 2020 to February 2025 – almost continuously) and unprecedented openness on the part of the EU. It will also be remembered for the record number of women MPs (almost 40%) and the rather “young” average age of our parliamentarians – 47.

Thirty-nine parties are eligible to participate in the 2025 parliamentary elections, of which 14 are at risk of recall.

Deputy Speakers of Parliament Doina Gherman (PAS) and Vlad Batrincea (BCS) made final statements on the work of the XIth Parliament, presenting diametrically opposed assessments of the work done in four years, – reports Logos Press.

The opposition Bloc of Communists and Socialists (BKS) intends to create in the next parliament “a special commission to investigate the criminal activities of the PAS party during the four years of its rule”. This was announced at a protest rally on Thursday by the leader of the BCS faction in parliament, deputy speaker Vlad Batryncha.

The 11th Parliament held its last plenary meeting of the 2025 spring-summer session on Friday, and the last draft approved was the decision to close the session on July 31, Logos Press reported.
